A stable and growing company is looking to add the right person to the team. The Technical Sales Representative will be joining a privately held company that has provided excellent service to their customers for over 50 years, and has excellent relationships with well-known manufacturers.

As a Technical Sales Representative, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with a diverse group of current and potentials customers to discuss their needs, and how the company can offer solutions. There is a great offering of industrial/commercial electric motor sales and services - such as repair of all types of AC and DC motor and generators of all sizes, rewinding and repair, dynamic balancing, and equipment testing, and motor storage. The company offers most services on-site or at their facility and provides up-to-date equipment, and full machine and welding shop capabilities.

Base salary, excellent commission plan, company vehicle, and benefits package.
Main Responsibilities:

The Technical Sales Representative will be responsible for driving growth, sales, and orders for motor repair, new sales, and field service within a specified customer base

Manage all quote activity throughout the sales process including opportunity identification, strategy creation, proposal development, deal negotiation, order closure, and OTR hand-off

Maintain and communicate up-to-date knowledge of motor repair, new sales, and field service related market trends, technology, customer requirements, competitor actions, and customer base

Develop, expand, and manage customer relationships for motor repair, new sales, and field service

Work with project managers to recommend target pricing

Act as region expert on motor repair, new sales, and field service

Provide timely, accurate and complete forecasts of orders and sales for the segment by supporting maintenance of opportunity pipelines

Work with Sales and service managers to drive orders

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, or other technical discipline from a 4-year educational institution

Minimum 5 years’ experience within the industrial market

Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time, as required

Ability and willingness to work long hours at times

Ability and willingness to reside in location, which is within approximately 30 miles of Baton Rouge, LA

Ability and willingness to work in a range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power generation facilities

Experience in Industrial sales or motor repair, new motors, VFD’s and Field Service

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Integrative team working style

Familiarity with computer systems

History of demonstrated success achieving sales targets

Ability to effectively manage time and budget or expense parameters

Ability to manage and influence in a matrix environment

Ability to communicate with all levels within the customer’s organization

Demonstrated sales/people skills and/or aptitude

Proven sales record or show that he/she has the aptitude to succeed in a technical and relationship driven business

Demonstrated computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Willing to work independently (after proper training) and be a self-starter
